We Do Not Doubt Our Mothers Knew It: Putting on the Beautiful Garments of Zion

It is exquisitely challenging for us as homeschooling mothers to walk our individual daily journeys, inside the walls of our own homes, with nobody to witness or know of the majority of our efforts.  Discouragement so easily besets us.  Too often, we feel harried and hurried and at the end of the day, cry out our frustrations into our pillows, for having run all day and yet feeling that we have not accomplished a thing.  But our Father in Heaven knows of our concerns, of our struggles and challenges, our tears and our prayers.  He will consecrate our seemingly small and private acts of mothering, for the future of the Church and for the building the Kingdom of God, just as the faith and teachings of mothers spoken of in the Book of Mormon sustained the Sons of Helaman as they marched bravely into battle.  The Lord’s promises to mothers are great.  He hears our prayers and answers them according to His perfect wisdom.  In that, we can place our whole faith and hope.  This class has been created to invite us to collectively remember the source of our strength and the importance of our work as mothers.During this hour, you will be invited to deeply consider the injunction to invite the Lord to direct us in all of our doings and to consecrate our efforts unto the Lord.  Through stories of great mothers in history, we will comprehend more clearly our indispensable and divinely appointed role in the events of the future.  In this class, you will also learn how to be more attentive to the different seasons in a mother’s life and to allow each season its proper place in the story of your family.  Each of us has been freely given our own sacred mantle of motherhood, with all of the rights and privileges belonging to the daughters of Zion.  Diann’s goal is for you to feel your mantle of motherhood securely draped around your shoulders; that you will stand a little taller, in your home and before your children, as you wear your mantle with dignity, grace, power and virtue.
