Seventeen years ago Derek and Misty had an initial reason for taking what seemed to them at the time to be a “drastic measure” in bringing their first child home for his education. Looking back, they realize it was one of the finest decisions they ever made, not only for their children, but for themselves. Yet, the initial reason for taking that first step has long ago faded and is now only a small part of why they continue to homeschool. Misty shares the progressive understanding that came gradually and naturally as, together, she and her husband dedicated themselves to teaching and inspiring their children. The fruits of their labors are becoming increasingly evident to them and their grown children, and the reasons now are clear and unmistakable. She also shares what she has seen in other families who have chosen this same path, and how each family is blessed by this choice, according to their desire, faith, and willingness to do the best they can.
