Parent Mentoring

Parent mentoring is the gem of all gems. Louisa May Alcott calls it “a parent’s subtlest power…to teach and uplift the souls for which they are responsible.” Parent mentoring is a way of interacting with children so that they are involved in and excited about their education. With the skill of parent mentoring, a parent can tap into a child’s internal sense of purpose, direction, and self-leadership. In a world so focused on experts and obsessed with the “one right way,” mentoring has been a vague, fuzzy, and hard-to-apply idea. In this workshop, Angela defines it. Shows it. Explains it. She shares stories of what parent mentoring is, what it needs to be, and why it is the gem of all gems.
