For many of us adults, our math education was tedious, uninspiring, and meaningless. For some, it was even traumatizing. How can homeschool parents overcome their own math trauma and become great math teachers? We will start by taking steps to re-imagine what mathematics can be, and then discussing some of the key components that are necessary in order to create a math experience for our students that is inspirational and meaningful.
