Mentor dates are a terrific system for nurturing relationships and maintaining regular connection with our children. As such, they can serve as a platform for encouraging, inspiring and challenging our children to engage in deeper and more meaningful studies. Regular mentor dates provide a periodic check-in with each child, and help us to listen more thoughtfully, plan more consistently and follow through. Planners are powerful tools for students, and can be used during the mentor date to record the plans made during the date. How can you experience a successful mentor date with each of your children? What does an effective mentor date look like? How can this system be employed to significantly enhance the quality and consistency of your children’s education? In this presentation, you will be introduced to the mentoring spectrum, learn to evaluate where each of your children falls on this spectrum, and create a plan for introducing them to mentor dates and planners.
