If Any of You Lack Wisdom: TJEd Parents on the Path of Wisdom

Most of us were drawn to TJEd because we love the principles it teaches. We feel strongly that we need to be raising leaders and that our children have a vital role to play in the future of our nation and the world. However, if we are not careful, TJEd can become its own conveyor belt, with us wanting the one, right, “step-by-step” plan to follow that guarantees success for every child. Sometimes we try to implement a certain principle because “that’s what the book said,” rather than trying to prayerfully determine what is best for our children at that time. How can we cut through the confusion we sometimes feel to live in the clarity of truth—truth about education, about family, about roles, about what is most important day-to-day? We can find that truth walking what Angela Baker calls “The Path of Wisdom.” The Prophet Joseph Smith followed this path repeatedly and each time received light and truth. Learning to consistently walk this path is vital to the education of every Latter-day Saint, whether parent or child. It is particularly important for families following a “non-traditional” schooling path like Leadership Education. The path is profoundly simple and perhaps already familiar, but it has the capacity to personally lead us out of the confusion and into light and truth. Explore this path with Angela and discover just how much it applies to the work of educating and raising your children in the TJEd approach.
