As homeschoolers we know there are great benefits to learning within the family, but where do we get support for such an awesome endeavor? Many of us were not homeschooled, and many of us haven’t really seen it done up close. We pioneer our own way, in our own families, just as Nephi built a ship without any prior experience. Sometimes it seems impossible when we are outnumbered by kids of different ages with different interests and needs. It can be overwhelming to feel like we have to be everything to everyone all the time. Come listen to a mother, who homeschools eleven, share her insights on the family learning experience. She will share what learning looks like in her family and how to use the family environment to more fully enhance the learning process. This class will cover topics such as multi-age cooperative learning, self-directed studies, conducting mentor meetings (or conferencing) with you children, record keeping, and strategies for taking some of the load off of mom.
