Ezra Taft Benson once said, “Secular scholarship though useful, provides an incomplete and sometimes inaccurate view of our history.” If our children are to recognize how historical events and people pre-1830 led to the Restoration and everything after leads to the Second Coming, they must see how God allows people and events to fulfill his purposes. Discover some of the less-discussed great events and personalities of history, and learn how to recognize and teach the bridges that take our children beyond a secular history to a providential viewpoint. The end goal? That our children recognize the Hand of Providence and His purposes in the rise and fall of great nations, armies, individuals and themselves.
