Among many keys that open the way to finding joy in our journey and peace amidst our challenges and trials is the enlightening understanding of the principle of process over result. While using stories from the scriptures, the teachings of latter-day prophets, and personal experience, Mike reminds us of our Heavenly Father’s and Savior’s loving encouragement to focus on the enabling growth, learning, and development that comes through the process of trying, doing, and enduring. We are counseled not to be distracted by the inaccurately perceived importance of results. It is through this lens that life’s journey, troubling circumstances and daily decisions come into beautifully sharp and edifying focus. It is through this key that the door to calming clarity and satisfying purpose in life is opened. And it is on this bedrock principle that the Savior solidifies in our hearts and minds his rightful position as the foundational hope (and result!) in our lives and in the lives of all mankind.
