Nellie Boyer was born in Utah and received her BA in English Literature at the University of Utah. She enjoyed running on their cross country and track team while receiving her college education. She taught public school in Salt Lake City for one year before beginning her worldwide adventures. Because of her husband’s job in the US Air Force, Nellie and her family were able to travel, see, and experience many regions and cultures around the world. During those years, she chose to homeschool her children. Nellie believes in being open-minded, inclusive, and learning from everyone. She has practiced that in the various learning communities she has built and participated in. Nellie and her family love being outdoors – camping in the summer, snow skiing in the winter. You will rarely find Nellie without a book close by. She loves finding connections to the gospel and sharing those with her family and friends. Currently, Nellie works for American Heritage School Worldwide, gathering with and helping families successfully homeschool. Nellie and her husband have four children and live in Mapleton, Utah.
