If you ask any homeschooling parent if they want their children to be powerful writers, they will always say “Yes!” But after buying expensive programs and seeking out the cutest graphic organizers on the vast currents of the internet…somehow…things don’t quite work out as they envisioned. Maybe your teenager hates to write or your child struggles with the mechanics of whether he needs a comma or an apostrophe (so he dangles it somewhere in the middle to cover all the bases!). I’d like to propose something completely different for teaching writing in your home. What if you could clue into a cycle that happens naturally and, by facilitating it, you could help your students to find their own writing voice? In this session you will learn some of the skills of being a great writer and, even more importantly, being a great writing coach. You are already giving them a great education—it’s time to help them develop a skill that will allow them to communicate what they know with confidence and persuasion.
