You Can Do Hard Things: Two Types of Discomfort

“The Lord has more in mind for you than you have in mind for yourself! You have been reserved and preserved for this time and place. You can do hard things. At the same time, as you love Him and keep His commandments, great rewards—even unimaginable achievements—may be yours.” Those are the words of President Russel M. Nelson. In this class, we will explore how staying focused on the Lord enables us to not only do hard things, but also learn how to handle discomfort that comes from doing hard things. Discomfort can be embraced as a positive, life-changing instrument that the Lord has given to us to accomplish the impossible. We will discuss two types of discomfort: the one that help us to grow and move forward, and the one that keeps us stuck. You will learn practical gospel-oriented tools that will help you change and overcome the feeling of being stuck, and learn to see “healthy” discomfort as the Lord’s way of teaching you how to be strong and courageous (2 Chronicles 32:7).
