Limited Enrollment Class: The Joy of Dissection, Wednesday May 29, 9:45 a.m.
Participants will work in pairs to dissect a fresh pig heart and lungs. They will be provided with protective aprons and gloves. Student Lab aids will help them to identify the major blood vessels of the heart, the heart valves and their supportive attachments, the four chambers of the heart, the trachea (and perhaps the larynx), the esophagus, the bronchi, and the lobes of the lungs. In addition, they will be able to inflate the lungs with the air compressors provided. This is a great way to learn more about anatomy. This is a one-hour lab activity, limited to 24 students. You must sign up to attend.
