Louisa Wells is the mother of eight children. She officially began homeschooling shortly before her oldest daughter began kindergarten. The first day of public school that year, the neighborhood was vacant and she worried she had made a big mistake. Now, over twelve years later, she considers it to be one of the best decisions she has ever made. Of course there have been highs and lows- often on a daily basis- but on balance, she has enjoyed the journey of learning and living as a family. In her “free time” Louisa enjoys hiking and camping. She and her husband Patrick live in Northern Virginia.
