Sia was born and raised in Apia Samoa. She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Samoa. She has worked in the healthcare field as a massage therapist and PT aide, in the hospitality and entertainment field as administrative assistant at Turtle Bay Resort, as a dancer and guide at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii, in higher education as administrative assistant to the Dean of Admissions and Records at BYU-Hawaii, and later as the administrative assistant to the University Registrar at BYU in Provo, Utah. She is retired but currently teaches Polynesian Dance with her daughter in Frederick, Maryland. Sia has been dancing Polynesian dances most of her life. She was part of various dance groups that entertained for dignitaries visiting her island home at a young age. She loves her Polynesian cultural dances and continues to perform and teach them.
