Daniel was born in Mexico City, Mexico. His family moved to the U.S. in 1992 to Colorado Springs, Colorado. He started practicing martial arts in 1995 through the U.S. Tae Kwon Do Center in Colorado Springs, under Master Sang Chul Lee, former executive member of the U.S. Olympic Committee, former Vice President of the World Tae Kwon Do Federation, Former President of the U.S. Tae Kwon Do Union, and current President of the U.S. Tae Kwon Do Committee. He is a 2nd Degree Black Belt and has competed at the local, state, and national level in Tae Kwon Do forms and full-contact sparring. He was an Instructor for Mt. Kim Martial Arts in Fredericksburg, Virginia, from 2012-2015 where he taught children and adults, beginners to black belts, everything from forms, sparring, self-defense, and nun-chucks. He also led the Mt. Kim Demo team.
