Come Find Your People

You know all too well that life is messy, that the best laid plans go awry, that children fight with you and each other, that the days are endless and the years fly by way too quickly.  Wouldn’t it be a relief to be able to share this crazy journey with others who totally understand the path you have embarked upon? Guess what? You can!

Come join us at the Latter-day Saint Home Educators Conference-West where we will have three wonderful days of Spirit-filled classes that will help you remember why you chose this journey in the first place. You will leave prepared for the upcoming year, filled with joy, and connected with insight and resources you can use all year long.

Wednesday Seminars

On Wednesday choose from two seminars

Foundations Seminar -Homeschooling 101

Fuel Your Fire Seminar – Homeschooling High School

Homeschooling 101: We’ll focus on the nitty-gritty details of getting started with a home-centered education, including: setting priorities, creating a workable schedule, socialization, and ensuring that Christ is the center of your homeschool. If you are considering homeschool, or just want a refresher, this track is for you!

Homeschooling High School: You will learn how to plan and execute a high school education, including; setting priorities, scheduling, socialization, finding resources, and preparing for post high school educational options. You don’t have to wait until your children are in high school to look ahead! If you have students in upper elementary, middle school or high school, you will want to spend the day with us in this seminar.

Conference Classes

Are you ready to take your homeschool to the next level? Spend a couple of days with our presenters and mentor parents to recharge, learn, and grow as you discover how to infuse an added measure of peace into your homeschool life.

On Thursday and Friday in our Home Education Conference,  choose from many excellent topics such as;

  • Art
  • Teaching Kids with Special Needs
  • Literature
  • Come Follow Me
  • Financial Smarts
  • Educational Philosophies
  • Mentoring
  • Teaching Multiple Ages
  • Photography
  • How to Teach Writing

Note: Adult classes are for adults and quiet nursing infants only. Taking noisy babies out is a courtesy to the presenter.  We know it can be difficult to find child care for the toddlers through tweens group, but allowing yourself to enjoy the conference experience in peace is worth it!

Need to Know

There are perks for arriving on time!  We start each morning with amazing door prize drawings – provided by our awesome vendors! Followed by a short inspirational devotional to get the day started on the right foot.  Make sure you arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 each day to get your drawing tickets.

Join other homeschooling parents each evening to talk about the classes of the day, struggles you are facing in your homeschool, or the great book you just read. This is the perfect place to find support and new friends!

Parent Chats are held near the youth evening activities so parents can participate in both.

The first night starts off with a bang, and you won’t want to miss the most entertaining talent show ever!  Youth can sign up ahead of time or if inspiration hits mid show, they can share their mad skills during the open mic time at the end. The whole family is invited!

Take a moment to reflect on how far your child (and you!) have come by participating in the Graduation Ceremony.  More information can be found on the  Youth Conference page.

What age youth can attend youth conference?

Youth currently in Young Men or Young Women are welcome to attend! (Turning 12 in 2021 – age 18).

Don’t think that Dad gets left out at the conference!  We offer several classes for Dads including entrepreneurship classes by Nephi Zufelt and Bill Peavoy, and  “Man to Man, How to Be Great!” by Chris Redford.

Grab your lunch and come hang out with us.  This is a great time to get to know other parents in a fun and casual setting and a great time to visit the vendor booths. Bring a lunch from home, purchase lunch from a food truck or get your food to go and join in the fun.
